Our Lower Secondary Mathematics Programme is designed to guide students through the critical transition from primary to secondary education, building on foundational skills while developing stronger reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Our teaching follows the MOE Mathematics syllabus closely, with structured lessons, step-by-step explanations, and targeted guidance to identify and address learning gaps early. Beyond academic excellence, we aim to nurture independent learners who approach problems methodically, think critically, and develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. We partner with parents to ensure every student progresses steadily, builds strong analytical skills, and develops the confidence to excel in mathematics both in school and examinations.

Secondary 1

Secondary 1 marks the transition from primary to secondary mathematics. Students consolidate their foundation in number skills while learning more abstract concepts and problem-solving techniques. This stage develops logical thinking and confidence in applying mathematical concepts to increasingly complex problems.

What Your Child Will Learn

Number & Algebra: Integers, fractions, decimals, percentages, powers, and basic algebraic expressions.
Ratio & Proportion: Understanding relationships and applying ratios to real-life scenarios.
Geometry & Measurement: Angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, area, perimeter, and simple volumes.
Graphs & Coordinate Geometry: Plotting points, interpreting linear graphs, and understanding trends.
Statistics & Probability: Reading and interpreting data, understanding averages, and basic probability.

Secondary 2

Secondary 2 continues to develop abstract reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Students deepen their understanding of algebra, geometry, and data analysis, preparing for higher-level secondary mathematics and future examinations.

What Your Child Will Learn

Algebra: Solving simultaneous equations, inequalities, expansion, factorisation, and introductory quadratics.
Ratio & Proportion: Direct and inverse proportion, applied in word problems.
Geometry: Congruence, similarity, circle properties, and volume of solids.
Graphs & Coordinate Geometry: Linear relationships, gradients, and intercepts.
Statistics & Probability: Data analysis, averages, probability of events, and interpreting trends.
